2023 Week 51: Meowry Christmas

Merry Christmas. 2 days ago I thought of so many exciting Christmassy things to do, like making a gingerbread house, making mulled wine, eating pork knuckle and sauerkraut, etc. but in the end we just ate Popeye's fried chicken today. The place was empty and it was rather nice because Jon and I went on our first date at a Popeye's. We also randomly bumped into his brother who sat down to eat with us.

Our ailing and ageing cat loves his Christmas present, a big floofy cat bed formerly rejected by multiple cats. Miaou loves it and I no longer feel bad about kicking him out of my bed. 

Speaking of ailing, he had another episode of temporary paralysis last week. We went out for a run and I came back to hear him scared-screaming on the bed; he had puked on the floor and pooped himself. After half an hour he went back to normal and ate his kibble. At his age I do not want him to go through the horrible battery of tests at the vet - so what to do? I don't know. 

Here is another significant cat of the week - Mia, mistress of my ex-colleague Pei Wen. We lost touch after I left the bookstore in 2013 and recently met up again after 10 years. Although we weren't super close I still view her as the older sister I never had. Nothing special was said during our hangout, yet it made me re-evaluate my life...

Bunnies of the week. First we have Jelly! I find Jelly super cute for some reason - strange because she only stayed here a few days and I didn't have time to hang out with her a lot. She's just a really sweet-tempered bun who really loves her hay and sitting on Jon's gaming chair.

Chako: incredibly cute and pudgy girl who guards her food like a fierce little Godzilla.

Hoshi and Daidai: omg Hoshi's personality has changed since the last time he stayed here (maybe half a year ago?). It seems like getting neutered made him extra hyper, rather than chilling him out. Also it's our first time meeting Daidai. The boys have yet to bond. Probably will be a challenge since Hoshi can be a crazy puppy and Daidai is easily annoyed...
