2023 Week 49: Shopping

What's up? We have been spending a lot of money lately. A big chunk of it is on home improvement. We're getting the following changed out:
  • Windows
  • Bedroom doors
  • Washing machine
  • Main door & gate
Jon has also painted the door frames a beautiful clean white. I will follow up with a more comprehensive post when everything is done.

Another shopping thing is our JB trip on Friday. Instead of buying random snacks like unhinged children, we made an actual grocery list this time and looked for items we needed. Adulting!

Coffee RM11 (vs S$6 or so here), 3-in-1 Milo-type drinks RM13 a packet (vs I dunno how much here)

Cat treats RM8 vs S$4++ a packet here

Difflam usually costs like S$16 a pack in Singapore but is only RM8 in Malaysia. WTF

St Dalfour jams at RM12 each cuz we're fancy. Also bread, orange juice, Vitagen etc.

Many drinks at probably RM2.50 on average. Also pretty good LAICI cordial at less than RM7

SONG HE rice at RM8 for 1kg, vs over $4 here. And pasta sauce RM5 a can vs $2.50 or so in Singapore.

TOP washing detergent RM19, cheaper than the S$7.90 Breeze we usually use (the cheapest liquid detergent we can find)

In other shopping news, we also went to IKEA to buy random things. The Alexandra branch has a $3 local breakfast special - we had mee siam which was actually quite good (spicy) plus free flow of tea and coffee. Cheaper than hawker centres these days.

I bought a dustpan, lint roller refills, ziplock bags etc. nothing special but it still added up to over $50. Yikes.

OK I gotta go. I will leave you with pictures of our guest bunnies.
