2023 Weeks 44 & 45: A Lost Fortnight

Um... what? I could've sworn I wrote a post last week, but I didn't. Well, here goes.

1. Covid redux: Lost most of Week 44 to Covid (again). We got it from Jon's family after having dinner together. I'd like to say it wasn't so bad the second time round, but it still sucked. I spent the time sleeping and eating a lot. I was RAVENOUS and had an obsession with cake. I ate like 1 loaf of cake a day.

2. Mine eyeeees: Went to Singapore National Eye Centre to do the preliminaries for LASIK. After the battery of tests I came away unsure about whether to proceed, largely because most of the clinic's staff were bespectacled. And there's the issue of presbyopia, which is slated to kick in in a few years and means that I may have to wear reading glasses even after correcting my vision.

Anyway, the SNEC optometrist (also bespectacled) told me that my recent vision issues weren't due to presbyopia but an over-strong glasses prescription. So I got a new pair of glasses made at Foptics to wear while I think about whether I want to have my eyeballs abraded with lasers.

3. Work: Then of course I have been busy with the work routine for this year-end period. I've been spending my mornings handling bunny check-ins & outs and on grooming jobs, grabbing lunch, then spending the afternoons at the bookstore. It's been tiring.

And there's the Parkinson's Law thing going on, too, where - since I have all morning free - I allow little pet chores to stretch on and on. Solution: Do chores at night, so I'll be motivated to complete them fast.

Here are the boarders:

Stewy! The little black bunny who always looks surprised.

Hanna! The smartest bunny that ever lived.

Sushi! She flattens into a piece of dough the moment you touch her head.

The year-end home re-org season has begun, although I don't think we'll do anything major. We have just acquired a reading couch for Jon's room. Here we are in the back of the van:

OK... bye.
