2023 WEEK 23: We return

This was our first proper week back in Singapore. (We got in last Thursday and spent the weekend just recovering from jet lag and eating all the food we missed.)

Hmm. It is weird. In the UK I wished myself back here all the time - but now that we're back I realise I don't like Singapore at all. It's not Singapore that I missed - it was the tropical weather, our bed, our pets, and the food.

This week I've been busy with 3 bunny boarders. We had Hoshi and Mocha, both repeat customers. New to us was Kuro, a black rescue bunny who was a bit defensive but warmed up after I gave her a thorough grooming. It's odd because her body language is like GO AWAY!!! but actually if you rub her head she really loves it.

I went back to work on Tuesday and Saturday. The 8-hour mid-shift isn't too bad at all. I clock in at 11am and end work at 8pm, avoiding all rush hours. There's an hour's break from 3-4pm and it's a solid hour's uninterrupted reading in the pantry, which is wonderful. (I love the pantry culture in Kino. Everyone respects the right to read in silence and will leave you completely alone if you have a book.)

As for the other days... not much went on really. Met up with family (both sides), went for yoga classes, did a bunch of power walking, did some writing on this blog.

On Friday we went to JB and I think it was one of the more successful trips we've had. Bought groceries and went for massage, came home early and ate Cornish pasties (...) from Secret Recipe. We're currently on a British supermarket house brand kick - so far we have a few Waitrose (Pelangi Plaza's Cold Storage) and Morrison's items (from NTUC here).

Jon wrote a funny quiz! At least I think it's funny. You might find it offensive - in which case we can't be friends, sorry.
